Second 2010 Summer Picnic - July 25 - Musquodoboit Valley Park

Misty weather and showers put a damper on the day, but a few dedicated picnic-ers still came out to share food and socializing with fellow club members.  (Lower turnouts just means more food for us hardy types, eh?)  The real troopers enjoyed a favourite summer treat of fried chicken and homemade pasta salad, along with various appetizers.  Dessert (always the best part of any meal), featured another summer favourite - strawberry shortcake!  Home-baked biscuits and lots of local strawberries, covered with as much whipped topping as you could wish for, helped to dispel the chill a bit.  Members dodged the drips by gathering under the protective canopy of the massive spreading trees of this beautiful country park.  Let's keep our fingers crossed for better weather at our third and final summer picnic - Saturday August 14th, at Hidden Hilltop Campground in Glenholme near Truro.

First 2010 Summer Picnic - June 27 at Victoria Park in our 'home-town' of Truro

Thanks to all the club members who lent a hand getting the picnic ready...

NOBODY arrived by cab!

Are those baked potatoes done yet?

'cos we're ready to eat NOW!

This historic and lovely park offers lots of beautiful shade trees and spacious shelters, perfect for picnics!
